Vintage Wedding Decoration Ideas

Lissanoure Castle is situated in a stunningly beautiful country estate in Northern Ireland. It is a dream location for weddings for many reasons not least the fabulous grounds which are perfect for beautiful photo opportunities. The castle itself has countless stunning period features and is decorated in gorgeous shades of blue which lends itself beautifully to an elegant vintage style wedding so when Allison booked me to style her wedding I was thrilled as it’s my dream wedding location to style.

Allison had a look at all my vintage china and we decided to use beautiful delicate pastels in pinks, greens & blues which suited this venue perfectly. The ceremony was held in The Dining Room with beautiful lime washed chiavari chairs decorated with gypsophila and the most stunning floral arrangements around the room by Occasions Floral Design.

Afternoon tea was served in the foyer with gorgeous lanterns,  vintage china, cakestands, rose gold sequin table runner and pretty blue floral paper napkins.

The Macartney Room is a beautiful large sitting room area for guests to sit for afternoon tea with open fires and comfy sofas with lots of cushions and bookcases filled with antique books.

Tables were all set up for dinner  in the stunning dining room with its duck egg blue walls and beautiful period windows. Allison chose a selection of  centrepieces from me,  glass lanterns covered with antique lace, birdcages with vintage teacups filled with flowers inside and 3 arm ivory candelabras with crystals, pearls & pink hydrangea and it all looked beautiful with the candies lit and little jars of fresh flowers and tea lights. The tables were also  set with vintage china for the after dinner tea and coffee.

Styling the top table and cake table are one of my favourite parts of setting up a wedding and I love to decorate with lots of delicate little decorations and pearls and flowers and I was delighted with the end result. On the cake table I used a vintage style Laura Ashley oval shaped mirror with a blue teacup filled with fresh flowers and on the top table, I filled little jars with fresh flowers and twisted pearls around them for a super pretty and romantic look.

I used pink & blue vintage teacups at the place settings  of the bride & groom with a selection of other delicate pastel china at the top table

I had such a lovely message from Allison the day after her wedding saying she loved everything and it was just like a fairytale which was so wonderful to hear, and her mum also rang me to say how pleased they were with everything.  It’s so rewarding to receive such lovely feedback and styling this wedding was a complete pleasure from beginning to end!
