Real Party: Ice Cream Party

Real Party: Ice Cream Party

Hi, my name is Helen and I write a Parenting & Lifestyle blog called Treasure Every Moment. Since getting married and then becoming a parent I have found a love for throwing parties to celebrate special occasions. Putting smiles on people’s faces, bringing loved ones together and making everywhere look pretty is just the most rewarding feeling.

Though as a busy parent of two I know that time can be very limited, which is why I always try to keep to a theme, choose a few key decorations that are the focus and start the party planning months in advance. I also like to do quite a few DIY decorations to add my own twist, many of which I share on my blog.

If you’d like to follow my family adventures and special events then I’d love to have you over on my Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

Throwing a children’s party is always so much fun and that usually begins with choosing a theme. You could go down the popular children’s character route or with a particular interest your child has at the time; the options are endless really. As summer is approaching and we can hope that the sun will begin to make a more regular appearance a fun theme for celebrations is ice-cream. Everyone loves ice-cream and it’s a party theme suitable for all ages. When it came to planning my daughter’s joint third and first birthday party that’s exactly the theme we choose, along with a splash of floral (I can’t resist) and rose gold (it’s very ‘trendy’ in the party planning scene at the moment).

Choosing a theme makes party planning a lot easier, as you have a focus for decorations, tableware and food. Party Pieces has such a vast range of party decorations and accessories that you’re likely to find everything you need for your chosen theme all in one place. Just the convenience we’re all looking for in our busy day-to-day lives.

If you’re planning on throwing an ice-cream themed party then here’s lots of inspiration…

ice cream van food cones

These Ice-Cream Vans are perfect for presenting your food on and they even come with paper cones to put in the top. Fill the cones with fruit, crudité or crisps and guests can help themselves. On the two shelves you could put sandwiches, scones, pots of jelly etc. or put edible cones in the top and ice-cream sprinkles underneath. The van comes with a sign that you can personalise with your child’s name and what is being served in the van. A really easy and quick way of transforming a party table into an ice-cream themed one!

rose gold 3 balloon ice cream balloon

Number balloons are an essential at children’s party and these large rose gold ones from Party Pieces fitted in perfectly with our theme. Also, just behind the doughnut wall there are the most beautiful marble pink and purple balloons that add that something a bit different to the decorations. The tableware/decorations range that fits with the floral/rose gold theme is the new Ditsy Floral range and it is truly stunning. Dainty scalloped edges, a floral pattern perfect for spring/summer and touches of rose gold for that added impact. The bunting from the range is on the right hand table, along with the We Heart Pink paper table cover.

rose gold hat

If you can’t wear a party hat at a children’s birthday party then when can you? These Pick and Mix Rose Gold Party Hats matched the rose gold trim on the Ditsy Floral Paper Party Plates, Napkins and Paper Party Cups perfectly and the children will love wearing them. To keep in line with the pastel ice-cream colours choose the mint, lavender and pale pink disposable cutlery, which come in sets of six knives, forks and spoons.

To decorate the table use flat-bottomed ice-cream cones (filled with a stone) as mini vases for fresh flowers and scatter the Ditsy Floral Garland rose gold flowers and leaves around. You could also thread them onto the provided string to create a garland to hang from a table or wall.

It’s been so much fun throwing an ice-cream themed party – why not consider it as a theme for your next party?
