These easy pumpkin cookies are ideal for Halloween parties, as a favour or as a trick or treat gift! All you need is a cookie cutter, biscuit dough and coloured icing! Here’s how to make them…
Bake your Pumpkin Shaped Biscuits
For our biscuits we always follow Biscuiteers easy vanilla biscuit recipe. Golden syrup and granulated sugar give the biscuit a really nice flavour and texture, they use this recipe in their bakery every day! Create your cookie dough and cut out pumpkin shapes using our pumpkin cookie cutter, then bake according to Biscuiteers recipe. You should be left with a batch of uniform, golden biscuits.
Next follow Biscuiteers recipe for line icing. We use the all in one method for our royal icing which creates a toothpaste-like consistency. Add a drop of orange food colouring then pipe the outline above onto your sugar cookie and allow to dry.
Again, we use a flood icing recipe from Biscuiteers which produces a more runny icing. Add your orange food colouring and put your icing into a squeezy bottle. Squeeze the icing into the gaps but don’t add to much as it’ll flow over your line icing. It’s better to use a small amount of icing then tap the edges of your biscuit to cover it.
The Finishing Touches
Use black line icing to give your pumpkins the finishing touches! Define the lines you created with orange line icing before then add a selection of spooky faces!
