It’s all to easy to compromise on breakfast when in an early morning rush, reaching for a box of cereal or ready made smoothie. These may seem like healthy options but both are more often than not, packed with teaspoons of refined sugar that won’t really fuel us for the day! David Bez’s ‘Breakfast Love’ is bursting with healthy breakfast bowls that are really quick and easy to make. Each bowl is filled with plenty of nutrients to keep you and the little ones going through the morning and you definitely won’t find teaspoons of sugar in these recipes.
This beautiful bowl combines cherries, raspberries, quinoa, sesame seeds and almonds to make a colourful morning treat! So if you’re in a rush perhaps before the school run or in party planning madness then why not try this recipe. If you’re one of those people who likes to photograph there food then this breakfast is totally instagrammable too! Here’s the recipe…
- 1/3 cup roasted quinoa (e.g. Qnola)
- handful of cherries, pitted and halved
- handful of raspberries
- 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 1/3 cup Almond “Cream”
- 1 tsp flaked [slivered] almonds
Blend together 1 cup nuts or seeds, 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon spice (like cocoa powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, lavender or vanilla extract) and 1 teaspoon honey (preferably raw).
