Mojito cocktail in a restaurant on a rustic wooden table

Virgin Mojito Recipe

This recipe is great to serve to mums-to-be (especially as the signature cocktail at a baby shower), or indeed anyone else who doesn’t want to drink alcohol, but still craves the citrus/mint refreshment of a mojito. We love this recipe because it uses traditional, still lemonade, although you can always substitute for the carbonated version, or even ginger beer.

Virgin Mojito Recipe

Makes 1 glass

  • 15 mint leaves
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 5 tsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp sugar syrup
  • 120 ml traditional lemonade
  • Crushed ice

To serve

  • Sprig of mint
  • Slices of fresh lime

  1. Use a muddler or spoon to gently crush the mint, sugar, lime juice and sugar syrup in the bottom of the glass – don’t be too rough, you just want to bruise the mint leaves to release the essential oils.
  2. Add 1/2 a glass of crushed ice (more if you desire) and a couple of slices of fresh lime.
  3. Top with traditional lemonade.
  4. Serve with a sprig of mint.
