A classic porcelain style theme works so well for a baby shower, especially if you’re hosting a tea party as part of the celebration. It offers more of a fresh, grown up look than pastels or baby pink and blue. Porcelain patterns could suit any venue, whether you’re at someone’s home or you’ve hired your space. Both our ranges, porcelain silver and porcelain blue, look beautiful accented with crisp whites such a cotton fabric bunting or white china.
Add a touch of sparkle to the baby shower with Porcelain Silver. You often don’t think of metallics when planning a baby shower but if it’s used subtly alongside a neutral colour like white, it can look really effective. If you’re feeling brave, a touch of lemon works so well with silver. The paper plates have so much detail in them, making them look very similar to real porcelain. If you’re going for a light lunch you could serve canapés on the smaller party plates or if you’re planning an afternoon tea why not serve a selection of treats like white iced fairy cakes and sugar biscuits on the larger party plates.
Compliment your silver tableware with minimal decorations dotted around the baby shower. Decorative party fans look so pretty hanging against a wall and they make a lovely backdrop for a dessert or sweetie table! No celebration is complete without balloons, fill sparkle star balloons with helium and tie around the room – they add height and a touch of fun!
We love the idea of using porcelain blue paper party plates as decoration, they’re beautiful so why not! They’d make a great backdrop mixed with porcelain blue bunting for any photos taken at the baby shower. You could get the photos printed in an album to give the Mum-to-be as a special gift when the little ones is born! Fresh flowers like white roses brighten up any room, place in a porcelain vase to make a vibrant focal point or centrepiece. For something a little different why not place flowers, fresh or fabric, in one of our blue party teapots, they’re ideal for an afternoon tea.
Whatever the season the porcelain blue tableware can be used to serve favourite treats. In the colder months, why not celebrate the baby shower with a tea party with porcelain tea cups, saucers and mini bakes. In spring and summer why not take the celebration outside in the sunshine (we hope) with a picnic or marquee party!
