Ultimate Guide to Halloween Parties

Ultimate Halloween Decorations and Tableware from Meri Meri

With summer holidays a distant memory, what to plan next? We have some cool and creepy Halloween party ideas to give you something to look forward to. From Halloween party products to spooky half-term excursions we’ve picked our favourite Halloween tricks & treats.

It’s Party Time!

The great thing about Halloween is that it’s the perfect excuse for a party. Even if it’s just with your family, the children will love helping you get prepared, carving the pumpkin and baking treats. Whatever the budget, you can host a fun-filled Halloween party, use plenty of Halloween decorations and even mix and match some party items with things you’ve already got at home. But remember, a pumpkin of some sort is essential!

Halloween Party Themes

Black and White Banquet party (for grown-ups)

Halloween Glittering Silhouettes Blog

Once the little nippers have been tucked up in bed, host Halloween for the grown-ups with a black and white evening. With devilish decorations and terrifying tableware you can create a stylish but scary scene fit for any dinner party or celebration. Decorate with black glittering handing decorations and prepare some delicious Halloween themed grub and chilling cocktails!

Orange Black and Gold (family party)

Trick or Treat Party Range Halloween

Mix and match your decorations with plain black and orange party ware. Opt for fun Halloween themed snack trays and fill your table centre with bowls filled with goodies (or orange coloured crisps such as cheese puffs or cheese tortilla chips). We love themed Halloween straws to add charm to your party drinks. For the room, Halloween garlands are great, along with a few super shaped foil Halloween balloons.

Witches Crew (children’s party)

Worried your children might be scared of Halloween? Look out for child friendly tableware and decorations like this Witches Crew theme and there’ll be nothing to worry about. With lots of friendly characters, this is a fun party theme you can mix and match with purple, orange and black. Later on, fill a large serving bowl with popcorn and put on a (slightly) spooky film.

Halloween Food Recipes

Bat & Ghost Cookies

These make a fun weekend activity with the children. They look brilliant if you collect some twigs and hang them from the branches. Bats should be hanging upside down with several shapes of ghosts dispersed between them.

Deadman’s Finger Sandwiches

These ghoulish finger sandwiches look fantastic displayed on black, 3-tiered cupcake stands. They are simple to make but look so impressive and children will love the idea!

Squashed Witch Cupcakes

Put one of these in front of each place setting, scattered at random along the table or around a Halloween table centrepiece. They are a fun addition to the spread and taste delicious.

Halloween Party Drinks

Meri Meri Halloween Skull Cups

Serve your Halloween concoction from a themed punchbowl in fun Halloween cups. Jazz up your drinks with special Halloween drink stirrers and coloured straws. For the more adventurous try making your own ‘blood’ cranberry ice cubes. Simply fill your ice cube tray with cranberry juice and add to clear fizzy drinks. Yum!

Halloween Party Bags & Treats

Halloween Sweet Treat Bags

Be prepared to trick or treat this Halloween! Whether you are having a Halloween themed party or just getting prepared for the trick or treating, stock up on some goodies. For parties with larger numbers the pre-filled Halloween party bags are really cost-effective and a quick option. For something really impressive, fill glitter pumpkins with popcorn or edible treats.

A special gift for older guests would be a little pumpkin buckets with black or orange tissue paper and a few Halloween themed presents such as stretchy spiders, pumpkin bouncy balls, skull key-rings and eye ball poppers.
